WORK PERMIT APPLICATION
There are two ways of application:
1. The application filed with legal residency:
If the foreigner has a at least 6 months of valid residence permit (except the residencies granted for education), the work permit application can be filed directly to the Ministry of Labour.
Application steps are below:
a. Obtaining residence permit: In case of non-existence, 6 months valid residence permit is to be obtained.
b. Work permit application: With the documents obtained from the applicant and the employer, the application is filed to the Ministry of Labour.
c. Approval of the work permit: The Ministry approves the work permit in 30 days.
Working in legal means starts after the social security registration and the residence address steps are completed.
2. Abroad application:
Foreigners not having residence permit in Turkey for 6 months, must file work visa applications from their country via Turkish consulates.
The application is filed as follows:
a. Work visa application: The applicant files work visa application to the Turkish Consulate.
Forwarding the reference number: The applicant receives a reference number during the application. He must forward the reference number to the employer and us (+90 212 287 11 11) at the same day.
b. Work permit application: The application is filed (with the application folder consisting of the documents of employers and applicants), to the Ministry of Labour in Turkey.
c. To issue the work visa on the passport: The work visa is issued to passport of foreign personnel by the Consulate.
During the approval period, the applicant can not work legally.
Address (Civil Registry Office) and social security registrations: The foreign applicant must enter Turkey in 30 days and apply to the social security institution (SGK) immediately and register the residency address in 20 days after entering Turkey with work visa.
This option is the fastest way of obtaining work permit. No need to wait for the residency card in order to file work permit application to the Ministry. The application is filed directly with the reference number obtained from the Turkish Consulate.
