Long-term residence permit
If you desire to apply for a Turkish Long-term Residence Permit, you will be needing the same papers and documents required for the other residence permits, as well as your residency book and your Turkish tax number.
Find below the list of documents that are requested from you in order to successfully apply for a Long-term Residence Permit :
- Residence permit application form
- The original and a copy of the passport or travel document
- Submission of the previous residence permit document
- Two passport-size photographs
- The document showing that the applicant has not received any social aid from governmental institutions and organizations in the last three years
- Declaration regarding sufficient and sustainable financial resources for the duration of the stay
- Police record document
- Valid medical insurance (one of the following shall be sufficient):
- Document facilitating health services in Turkey within the scope of bilateral social security agreements
- Provision document issued by the Social Security Institution
- Document regarding the application made to the Social Security Institution to be covered by the general health insurance
- Private health insurance
- Document showing that the applicant is registered with the Address Registry System
The main difference in this situation is the few more specific requirements that you must fulfill in order to be eligible for a Turkish Long-term residence permit. Here are following the mandatory conditions :
- 8 years of continuous residency in Turkey
- not having received social assistance in the past 3 years
- sufficient and stable income to maintain yourself (and your family)
- valid health insurance (for applicants under 65)
- not posing a public order/security threat
NOTE : The long-term Residence Permit is issued indefinitely and therefore do not require to be extended.
